When all automakers struggled to make ends meet during the COVID pandemic, Toyota announced record profit and became the largest automaker. Toyota uses TPS and a set of practices which make them resilient against any crisis; recall crisis, Fukushima disaster, COVID pandemic, chip shortage to name a few. Ritsuo Shingo, former president of Sichuan Toyota China, has served more than 40 years at Toyota starting from shop floor to top floor. He was involved in setting up the first Toyota plants in the US and UK including NUMMI and Kentucky. He pioneered Toyota's expansion in China which contributed to the success of Toyota during the pandemic. He is a known figure inside Toyota for his success in creating a profitable manufacturing plant in China within one year.

TMI has 2400 linear feet of hard-standing space in addition to the service building and a centerboard pit. We have a combined 6000 linear feet of slip space on floating concrete docks. The service basin is dredged to maintain an average 16-foot depth. Come join the ASCM Savannah Chapter members and peers at a tour of the Burnt Church Distillery in Bluffton, SC. We'll go behind-the-scenes and learn how each of their spirits come to life and how the rich history of Bluffton effected the origin of the distillery.

We will start the Burnt Church Distillery tour by taking a deep dive into the history, science and creativity behind making the finest spirits in the Lowcountry. On the Distillery Production Tour, we will be guided by a master distiller as we walk through the multiplicity of steps to making bourbon, whiskey, vodka, gin, moonshine, agave and rum. From grain to barrel and bottling, this is an in-depth experience that finishes nicely with a tasting or cocktail.  Registration includes the tour and a basic flight (4) ¼ pours of their carefully crafted bourbon, whiskey, vodka, gin, moonshine, agave and rum.

 

Also, during this tour, we will take a trip into the past while experiencing the future of Lowcountry hospitality!
